Pros: Battlefield 1943 has taken World War II, to a whole new level. The original (Battlefield 1942) may have had more maps, and more vehicles, but it doesn't have the graphics or the class. With simplified player classes, and newer better vehicle physics this game is Awesome! I've heard the complaint that BF1943 is Grainy. If you feel this way then you need to invest in a good HDMI cable. The imagery of the terrain is beautiful. The colors are nearly spot on, from blue shifting oceans to freckled greenery this game has something most games don't, real-time artwork.
Just like Bad company the destructive environment puts this game in a class all its own. Plus, if you've every played a WWII based dog fighting game for the PS3 you will quickly realize that BF 1943's interpretation of fighter plane physics and durability are at the forefront the ADF (Aerial Dog fighting) Genre. Pushing the envelope!
Cons: There is no single player mode. Not that battlefield 1943 was ever intended to be a single player game, but they could have at least put in an offline player management system or something. The Shot register is a little off. Generally a sniper should always have at least three rounds in his/her mag before taking on a new target. A player with full health will always take three shots before going down, unless you get a head shot. Good luck with that. The vehicles glitch when bumping into other vehicles on your team...Gets annoying.
Final word:
This game is too much fun for anyone to ever trash talk it. I think the only reason why people may talk down about it is due to the size of the maps. A person used to a cramped FPS arena is going to have a hard time getting used to a map that's at least one hundred times larger than the ones they normally play on. Large maps are Great!
I'm going to coin a new phrase. ADF (Aerial Dog Fighting) game, you heard it here first... A new Genre of game, or not so new as it is just now becoming more popular, but still, you heard Esko say ADF!!!!!
